Finishing

Sandblasting (unified texture)

Used to remove slight oxidation and processing marks and unify the matte texture; it is recommended to define the appearance surface and sandblasting grade for cosmetic parts.

Blackening (Basic Rust Prevention)

It is often used for basic rust prevention and appearance deepening of steel parts; it is more suitable for non-strongly corrosive environments. It is recommended to provide reference samples for appearance consistency.

Oxidation (surface protection)

Used to improve surface protection and appearance stability; please clarify the target color and whether subsequent sealing treatment is required.

Galvanized (anti-rust priority)

Suitable for sheet metal parts with higher requirements for rust prevention; please note the coating target and whether it is the appearance surface (affects subsequent appearance control).

Nickel plating (appearance and corrosion resistance)

Used to improve appearance and corrosion resistance; if higher appearance consistency is required, it is recommended to provide reference standards or sample requirements.

Powder coating (durable coating)

Commonly used in chassis cabinets and shell parts; it has strong wear resistance and covering ability. Please specify the color, texture (fine sand grain/orange grain, etc.) and appearance.

Spray paint (color and texture)

Suitable for color matching and appearance; optional matte/semi-matte/high gloss. It is recommended to provide color numbers or reference images to improve consistency.

Why Choose Cold Rolled Plate_SPCC (Sheet Metal Fabrication)

Versatility and cost-friendly

Suitable for most general sheet metal structural parts: shells, brackets, mounting plates, chassis cabinets, etc., convenient for rapid prototyping and small batches.

The surface quality is more suitable for the basis of cosmetic parts

The cold-rolled surface is smoother, and it is easier to obtain a stable appearance and consistent texture when combined with powder coating/painting/electroplating and other solutions.

Wide adaptability to bending and forming

It is suitable for bending, stamping and assembly structures; it is also easier to realize parts with multiple bends, ribs and complex hole layouts.

Many surface treatment options

Sandblasting, blackening, oxidation, galvanizing, nickel plating, powder coating, painting and other solutions can be selected according to the anti-rust and appearance objectives.

Recommended Applications

  • General sheet metal structural parts: Shell, cover, bracket, mounting plate, chassis and cabinet
  • Prioritize cost and delivery efficiency: Hope for quick prototyping/small batch trial production
  • Controllable appearance: Plan to obtain a stable appearance through powder coating/painting/electroplating, etc.
  • Assembly class structure: Riveting, welding, screw assembly, etc. (It is recommended to provide 2D markings of key hole positions/datums)

It is not recommended to use it directly (it is recommended to change materials/processes)

  • Strongly corrosive environment: Prioritize corrosion-resistant material systems or stronger protection solutions (such as stainless steel/higher grade coatings)
  • High strength/high wear resistance: It is recommended to choose higher performance steel or adjust the structure and process route
  • High temperature and long-term service: It is necessary to evaluate the temperature resistance of the surface coating based on the working conditions and replace the material if necessary.
  • Extremely high appearance grade: It is recommended to clarify appearance standards, color difference/scratch requirements, and choose a more controllable painting route

Design and DFM Guidelines

  • Plate thickness and structural rigidity: Thin plate parts are more likely to deform; when there are large flat surfaces/long edges, it is recommended to add hems, flanges or ribs to increase rigidity.
  • Distance between bend and hole: Holes and openings that are too close to the bending line will lead to the risk of deformation or cracking; it is recommended to mark key dimensions in the drawings and retain reasonable process margins.
  • Appearance surface definition: If it is an appearance part, please specify the display surface/appearance surface; the appearance consistency of sand blasting, powder coating, painting and electroplating depends on the standard definition.
  • Assembly datum and tolerances: It is recommended to provide 2D markings (PDF/DWG/DXF) for assembly hole positions/locating surfaces, and clarify key tolerances and datum systems.
  • Surface treatment and functional goals: Prioritize galvanizing/powder coating for rust prevention; prioritize powder coating/painting for appearance; electroplating (nickel plating, etc.) requires clear specifications for appearance and coating requirements.
