Polycarbonate (PC) CNC machining material (PC engineering plastic / Polycarbonate / PC machining) is suitable for appearance prototypes, electrical insulation structural parts and functional validation parts. It supports chamfering, grinding, bonding, screen printing, laser engraving, painting and polishing (transparent edge), and provides fast quote and delivery.

Polycarbonate (PC)

Polycarbonate (PC) is characterized by "high toughness, strong impact resistance, good temperature resistance, and can be made as transparent parts," making it suitable for transparent protective covers, impact-resistant enclosures, and structural components.

Finishing

chamfer

Used to remove sharp edges and improve assembly and safety; if there is a mating surface/positioning surface, please mark the chamfer on the drawing or indicate the priority in the remarks.

polish

Used to improve the look and feel of the knife pattern and surface; if the appearance surface is required to be more delicate, please define the appearance surface and acceptable texture standards.

bonding

Suitable for assembly and sealing after sub-part processing; it is recommended to note the force direction, appearance requirements and whether fixture positioning is required.

screen printing

Suitable for logos, scales and other graphic information; it is recommended to provide vector files and mark the location, size and color requirements.

Laser engraving

Suitable for serial numbers, QR codes, and wear-resistant logos; it is recommended to provide content and location dimensions to confirm readability and contrast goals.

spray paint

Used to unify texture and color to enhance the "finished" look; please note matte/semi-matte/high-gloss and provide a reference picture for better results.

Polished (transparent edge)

Used to improve the visual effect of transparent edges or partial transparency; please clarify the polishing area and appearance acceptance criteria (edge clarity/haze/scratch tolerance).

Why Choose Polycarbonate (PC) (CNC Machining)

Looks prototype-friendly

Suitable for demonstration samples and structural appearance verification; can be polished/painted to improve consistency and texture.

Common electrical insulation applications

Suitable for insulating brackets, covers, fixtures, etc.; 2D marking is recommended for key dimensions and mounting holes.

Can be marked and traced

Supports screen printing and laser engraving, suitable for presenting information such as brand logos, scales, and serial numbers.

Clear edge polish option

Optional when there are requirements for transparent edges/partially transparent vision Polished (transparent edge) And accept according to appearance standards.

Recommended Applications

  • Appearance prototype: Need samples that can be polished/painted, and can be screen printed/laser engraved with logos
  • Electrical insulation structural parts: Brackets, casings, fixings, etc., pay attention to assembly and dimensional consistency
  • Functional validation: Requires rapid processing and small batch verification of structure and assembly relationships
  • Transparent edge look and feel: Higher requirements for partially transparent edges, optional polishing (transparent edges)

It is not recommended to use it directly (it is recommended to change materials/processes)

  • Extreme high temperature and long-term use: Please evaluate a more temperature-resistant material system based on working conditions.
  • High wear sliding surfaces: It is recommended to evaluate wear-resistant materials or add surface solutions
  • Strong chemical corrosion environment: It is recommended to choose a more matching material according to the medium.
  • High optical transmittance/high transparency finished product: If you need to be close to optical grade transparency, it is recommended to confirm the material and process route with the engineer.

Design and DFM Guidelines

  • Key dimensions and benchmarks: It is recommended to provide STEP + 2D (PDF/DWG/DXF) annotation; key hole/key surface mark tolerance or note "precision first".
  • Thin walls and deep cavities: Thin walls, deep cavities and long cantilevers rely more on clamping and tool accessibility; it is recommended to do DFM first, and then process in pieces if necessary before bonding and assembling.
  • Appearance surface definition: When grinding/painting/transparent edge polishing is required, please clarify the appearance surface and acceptance criteria to avoid leaving knife marks/clamp marks on key surfaces.
  • Screen printing/laser engraving readability: Provide vector files (AI/PDF/SVG), and give the position, size and direction; it is recommended to reserve sufficient area and contrast conditions for QR codes/small characters.
  • Bonding structure: It is recommended to add positioning steps/tongue grooves on the bonding surface to improve assembly consistency; if you are sensitive to appearance, you need to confirm the glue line and glue overflow control plan in advance.
