Brass sheet metal fabrication materials (brass sheet metal/brass sheet/brass panel/brass shield), suitable for appearance panels, decorative parts, nameplates, shields and functional structural parts, supports polishing, electroplating (nickel/chromium/gold), sandblasting and laser engraving, providing fast quote and delivery.

Brass (sheet metal fabrication)

Brass is considered both in sheet metal fabrication Electrical and thermal conductivity with decorative texture One of the commonly used metal materials.

Key Material and Manufacturing Parameters

Engineering note: Values below are typical reference ranges. Final manufacturability, tolerances, material condition, surface finish, cost, and lead time depend on the drawing, geometry, quantity, and selected process.

Upload CAD files and mark critical features for an engineering review before production.

Structural and bending suggestions It is recommended to clarify the bending line, angle, direction and key benchmarks in the drawings; try to avoid holes/slots that are too close to each other at the bends, and add undercuts/process gaps if necessary to reduce the risk of cracking and deformation.
Appearance surface definition If you are sensitive to appearance (mirror surface/uniform texture/electroplating color), please indicate it in the remarks Appearance and acceptable defect standards to facilitate priority arrangement of processing surfaces, fixture clamping and finishing plans.

Finishing

Polishing (increases shine and feel)

Suitable for exterior panels and decorative parts to improve mirror finish and texture; it is recommended to specify the target effect (high gloss/semi-gloss) and exterior surface range in the remarks.

Electroplating (nickel/chromium/gold) (appearance and protection)

Used to improve appearance consistency and corrosion resistance; it is recommended to provide reference colors or plating targets (bright nickel/matte nickel/bright chrome, etc.).

Sandblasted (uniform matte texture)

Gets a uniform matte texture and reduces small scratches; suitable for panels, covers and exterior parts that require a consistent texture.

Laser engraving (identification and traceability)

Suitable for logos, scales, serial numbers, QR codes, etc.; it is recommended to provide vector files (AI/SVG/DXF) and mark the size and position.

Why Choose Brass (Sheet Metal Fabrication)

Strong appearance and texture (suitable for decorative parts)

The color and luster of brass is more "finished", and when combined with polishing/plating can achieve greater consistency and presentation.

Electrically conductive and thermally friendly

Suitable for conductive contacts, shielding covers and sheet metal structure applications that require heat conduction/heat dissipation assistance (specific structures are subject to engineering evaluation).

High adaptability to sheet metal process

It can be cut, bent, stamped and other routes, suitable for prototyping and small batch iteration; the external surface can be optimized for clamping and texture direction through process arrangement.

Clear finishing options

Supports polishing, sandblasting, electroplating (nickel/chromium/gold) and laser engraving, making it easy to transform "appearance goals" into executable process combinations.

Recommended Applications

  • Exterior panels/trims: Need better texture and display effect, can be equipped with polishing/electroplating
  • Logo and nameplate: Need laser engraving logo, scale, serial number, etc.
  • Shield/conductive structure: Sheet metal parts that require conductive and forming routes
  • Iterate in small batches: The structure is frequently revised, suitable for rapid trial production and repurchase of sheet metal.

It is not recommended to use it directly (it is recommended to change materials/processes)

  • Extreme strength/high impact preferred: Higher strength steel or thicker plate options can be evaluated
  • Very cost sensitive: More economical routes such as ordinary carbon steel/galvanized sheets can be evaluated
  • Extreme requirements for lightweight: Can evaluate aluminum alloy sheet metal or structural weight reduction design
  • Long-term exposure to highly corrosive media: It is recommended to combine environmental assessment with stainless steel or stronger protective coating solutions

Design and DFM Guidelines

  • Plate thickness and expansion: Please clarify the plate thickness and key dimension benchmarks; if there is bending, it is recommended to provide expansion or mark the bending coefficient/requirements to facilitate the control of assembly dimensions in one go.
  • Hole margins and bend margins: If the hole/slot is too close to the bending line, it will easily deform; it is recommended to reserve sufficient margins or add process slots to avoid cracking at the bend and hole position deviation.
  • Bending fillet and stress concentration: It is recommended to make a rounded transition on the inner corners; the small rounded corners of thin plates are more sensitive, so try to avoid the risk of cracking caused by sharp corners and sudden changes in thickness.
  • Appearance surface and grain direction: Sandblasting/polishing/electroplating has a great impact on appearance consistency; please define the appearance surface and texture direction, and we can optimize the clamping surface and finishing route.
  • Laser engraving content specifications: It is recommended to provide vector files and minimum line width/font size requirements; the size and contrast of QR codes need to be evaluated to avoid affecting reading on highly reflective surfaces.
